What is LIHA?
The London International Honey Awards (LIHA) is an international quality competition in which honeys from many countries compete. Honeys are judged by an expert panel in a blind tasting, without knowing which producer they come from.
The competition includes categories such as quality and packaging design, and winning products receive medals and special titles.
Why does blind tasting matter?
In a blind tasting the jury judges only the honey itself; brand, country or packaging have no influence on the decision. An award won in blind tasting is therefore an impartial endorsement of a product's taste and quality.
Bingöl Balı: lasting success in London
After winning 13 international awards in London and Paris in 2023–24, Bingöl Balı received a quality award in the "Global Honey Stars" category at LIHA in 2026.
Awards that continue year after year show that the Bingöl Balı offered by GürAta has consistent, controlled quality that is not limited to a single harvest.
