What is organic farming?
Organic farming is a controlled, certified production system based on natural and sustainable methods instead of synthetic fertilisers, chemical pesticides and additives. In Türkiye it is regulated by Organic Agriculture Law No. 5262 and its implementing regulation.
Production is inspected by control and certification bodies authorised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Soil, production processes and records are checked regularly, and samples are taken for analysis when needed.
What does it guarantee to consumers?
By law, a product without certification may not be sold as organic. The Türkiye organic logo is the sign that a product has passed through this chain of inspection and that its organic claim has been officially verified.
İlizi Organic: organic olive oil from Kilis's ancient olive
GürAta's İlizi Organic extra virgin olive oil is made from Kilis Yağlık olives without synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or chemical additives. Analysis in a ministry-approved laboratory detected no pesticide residues.
The Türkiye organic certificate is one of four organic certificates İlizi holds, together with EU, USDA and JAS organic certification. This allows the product to be offered with the same organic assurance both at home and in the most demanding export markets.
